Poland launches multiple road projects and funding programmes
Poland is expanding its road network with several new constructions and sizable funding allocations. A new 5 km GP‑class segment of national road 19 near the Belarus border was opened, costing more than 526 million zł and built by PORR. The government also started work on the Gotartów–Olesna fragment of the S11 expressway, with temporary traffic arrangements managed by a Mirbud‑Kobylarnia consortium. A separate tender for a 49 km stretch of the S11 between Jarocin and Ostrow Wielkopolski is set to be announced after an environmental decision.
Regional funding programmes were also announced. Over 345 million zł will be made available to Mazovian gminas and powiats for road works in 2027, including more than 241 million zł for new and ongoing projects. West Pomerania will receive more than 109 million zł from the Government Road Development Fund for road reconstruction and modernisation. In Opole, 2.75 million zł from the Agricultural Land Protection Fund will support nine gminas and two powiats in building farm‑access roads. Local authorities in Krośnień County signed contracts for two road upgrades totalling over 1.7 million zł, and a municipal tender for the missing segment of Gliwice's southern bypass attracted bids from ten contractors with prices ranging from 29 million to almost 40 million zł.
