Czarzasty pushes for joint left list in 2027 Polish elections
Sejm speaker Włodzimierz Czarzasty announced his intention that the Polish left should consolidate ahead of the 2027 parliamentary elections, proposing a common electoral list that would unite Nowa Lewica, Partia Razem and the emerging New Wave led by Joanna Senyszyn. He said he shares 95 % of his views with Adrian Zandberg and described the coalition as “reasonable for our country”.
Zandberg rejected the proposal, stating that Czarzasty has already chosen Donald Tusk as his coalition partner and accusing the speaker of following the government line. He emphasized that Partia Razem will run independently and urged Czarzasty to be consistent. Senyszyn expressed willingness to discuss a broader democratic opposition alliance, while Czarzasty reiterated his invitation to both Zandberg and Senyszyn during a Polsat News interview.
The discussion occurs as poll data show the left struggling to clear the electoral threshold, prompting calls for a unified front to improve their parliamentary prospects.
