Poland's speed camera network logs record violations in first half of 2026

Poland's automated traffic surveillance system (CANARD) recorded more than 785,400 speed violations between January and June 2026, equivalent to about three tickets per minute. The expanded network now includes 520 fixed speed cameras and 111 sectional speed‑measurement points, up from 461 cameras and 70 points in the same period of 2025 – a 12.7% increase and a 33% rise in total violations year‑on‑year.

The most active locations are new installations on high‑speed routes, with the S2 segment in Warsaw alone reporting nearly 38,000 breaches. Traditional speed cameras captured over 401,400 infractions, while the system as a whole logged over 400,000 violations per half‑year. Modernisation funded by the National Recovery Plan added 128 new devices, including 43 average‑speed stations, 70 point‑speed units and 10 red‑light monitors. Notable individual offences include a driver clocking 179 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.
