Poland's Summer Cultural Festivals Feature Live Music and Silent Film Revivals

The TAURON Fridays cultural series opened at the Ruins of the Victoria Theatre in Gliwice, launching a summer program of concerts, performances and film screenings. The inaugural evening paired the silent classic "Man with a Film Camera" with live music performed by the band Immortal Onion, followed by a visual‑art discussion with Kasia Kaluą Kryńska. Weekly events will continue throughout July and August, offering a mix of music, theatre and gastronomy.

In Lubin, the IV Organ Cinema Festival showcased three evenings of silent‑film presentations accompanied by live organ improvisations. Highlights included a 1918 screening of "Journey to Mars" with a bespoke organ score by Martin Gregorius, as well as performances by organist Krzesimir Dębicki and other musicians. The festival underscored a growing audience interest in reviving early cinema through contemporary live sound.
