Poland's Territorial Defence launches summer military training offering up to 7,000 zł stipend

The seventh edition of the "Wakacje z WOT" (Summer with the Territorial Defence) programme began in Wielkopolska on 26 June. The initiative is open to adults aged 18‑35, including students, teachers and other volunteers, who can choose from about 90 locations and a range of specialisations such as armoured, airborne, naval and missile units. Training lasts 27 days and includes intensive tactical drills, shooting, survival skills, equipment handling and team‑building exercises. All logistics – accommodation, meals, uniforms, medical care and insurance – are provided free of charge.

Participants who complete the 16‑day basic course receive a one‑off payment of roughly 7 000 zł, while those in the 27‑day programme are paid up to 6 000 zł gross for the duration. Successful graduates also gain extra points for admission to higher military schools and may continue with weekly training that provides a regular monthly allowance of about 1 000 zł. In the first edition more than 4 000 volunteers took part, and the programme aims to attract thousands of young Poles each summer.
