Poland's ZUS mandates 7‑day deadline for employee data updates and new rules on sick‑leave during vacation

The Polish Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) requires employers to report any changes to an employee’s personal or address data within seven calendar days of the change. Updates may involve first name, surname, PESEL number, birth date, ID or passport details, as well as citizenship, gender or residence address. Specific ZUS forms must be used: ZIUA for identification changes, ZUA/ZZA for address or employment‑status changes, ZWUA for health‑insurance deregistration followed by re‑registration, and ZCNA for changes concerning family members.

ZUS also advises that if an employee moves to a different residence while on sick‑leave, the new address must be reported to both the employer and ZUS within three days. Employers with more than 20 staff may monitor sick‑leave usage throughout the benefit period, and any misuse—such as working elsewhere or undertaking non‑medical activities—can result in loss of entitlement to sickness benefits.
