Poland's ZUS offices close on August 14; services shift online

On Friday, 14 August, all client service halls of the Zakład Ubezpieczeń Społecznych (ZUS) and its telephone centre will be closed throughout Poland. The closure follows labour‑code rules that require a compensatory day off when a statutory holiday falls on a non‑working day; the day off compensates for the holiday on Saturday 15 August 2026.

Customers are advised to use the Platforma Usług Elektronicznych eZUS, which remains available 24/7, to submit applications, access the pension calculator, or obtain certificates. Regional press officer Iwona Kowalska‑Matis encouraged early appointment scheduling to avoid queues, noting that online services can be used any day of the week.

The online platform enables submission of documents and requests without visiting a physical office, ensuring continuity of ZUS services despite the nationwide closure.
