Polestar 4 SUV to launch with rear window, orders start Sep 2 2026

Swedish‑Chinese brand Polestar announced that the Polestar 4 SUV, a practical five‑door version of its best‑selling Polestar 4 coupe, will be available for preorder from 2 September 2026. The new model adds a conventional rear window, a higher roof line and a vertical tailgate, increasing cargo capacity while retaining the coupe’s design language.

The SUV will be built at Polestar’s Busan plant in South Korea, allowing the vehicle to avoid tariffs on Chinese‑made EVs. It uses the same 400‑volt platform as the coupe, offering up to 630 km WLTP range on the single‑motor rear‑wheel‑drive version and up to 544 hp (400 kW) on the dual‑motor all‑wheel‑drive variant. European pricing is expected to start around €68,000, positioning the Polestar 4 SUV against rivals such as the BMW iX3, Mercedes‑Benz GLC and Volvo EX60.
