Volvo expands EV rollout globally
Entities: Volvo Cars · SPA3 platform · Volvo EX60 · CTC Automotive · Sweden
Overview
Volvo Cars continued its global EV rollout through mid‑2026. Following the start of EX60 deliveries in Sweden, the company announced the model’s SPA3‑based architecture, five‑seat SUV layout, and a top‑spec P12 AWD version offering up to 810 km WLTP range and 400 kW fast‑charging (10‑% to 80 % in 16 min). Seven EX60 variants covering three battery outputs are now on order with CTC Automotive and have begun deliveries in Europe.
The flagship EX90 is slated for an India launch on 18 August 2026, with 106 kWh or 92 kWh packs, up to 680 bhp, 608 km WLTP range, Level‑3 driver assistance and flexible seating.
In Turkey, a July 2025 price list covered the EX30 up to performance‑oriented XC60, XC90 and EC40.
Volvo Cars Korea introduced the ES90 pure‑electric sedan at a media event on 22 April 2026 in Seoul’s Grand Hyatt. Priced from 72.94 million won—about 5 billion won cheaper than other markets—the 800 V SPA2‑based ES90 offers 350 kW DC fast‑charging (80 % in ~22 min) and a WLTP‑rated range up to 706 km, with a 5‑metre wheelbase and 1,445 L cargo volume. Volvo targets over 1,000 units in the first year, more than 3,000 in 2025, and aims to sell more than 10,000 EVs annually in South Korea, positioning the model as a market leader in the premium electric segment.
Volvo reported a 28 % global rise in fully electric sales in December 2025 and projects total vehicle sales of 710,042 for the year.
