Germany: 18-year-old arrested for attacking school class on train

An 18-year-old man was arrested by the Bundespolizei after attacking a school class on a regional train (RE 100) traveling toward Münsterland. The incident, which caused the train to make an unscheduled stop in Essen-Werden, involved multiple reports of sexual harassment and physical violence against minors.

According to reports, the suspect sexually harassed several students, including 16-year-olds, and ignored orders from railway staff to leave the compartment. The situation escalated when the suspect punched two 15-year-old boys in the face; one victim suffered a suspected nasal fracture. The suspect, an intoxicated individual from Neuss, faces charges including sexual coercion, sexual harassment, bodily harm, and resisting law enforcement.

In separate incidents across Germany, authorities are investigating other acts of violence. In Neubrandenburg, ten children and adolescents were detained after videos surfaced on social media showing them torturing a 14-year-old boy for several hours. Additionally, police in Würzburg are searching for two men following a sexual harassment and assault incident at a restaurant, and in Heidelberg, investigators are seeking a victim after a reported sexual assault in the old town.
