Police arrest individuals in Moglabazar and Khilgaon for blackmail and murder

In Moglabazar, Sylhet, a 25-year-old man named Apu Chandra Das was detained by locals and handed over to police following allegations of blackmailing women and schoolgirls. During the incident, a crowd gathered, leading to a confrontation with police. Reports indicate that during the commotion, a police body-worn camera and some local shop goods were lost. Das was presented to court on September 5.

In a separate incident in the Khilgaon area of Dhaka, a man named Russel Howlader was arrested for the alleged murder of his wife, Sumi Akter. The victim's family claims she was beaten throughout the day due to suspicions of infidelity. While the household initially claimed she had committed suicide, a video of the abuse surfaced on social media, prompting police action. A murder case has been filed by the victim's brother.
