Rome Minicar Assaults: Two Minors Confess to Attacks

Two minors, aged 16 and 17, have confessed to a series of six assaults carried out in a black Aixam Gto Emotion microcar in Rome between October 4 and 5. The attacks, which took place in the Monteverde and Testaccio neighborhoods, targeted pedestrians, cyclists, and scooter users. The suspects reportedly stated they committed the acts for fun and boredom while celebrating a birthday.

One of the minors, the 17-year-old driver and owner of the vehicle, is the son of a member of the Carabinieri. Investigators identified the pair through surveillance footage, geolocation data from a parental control app, and the testimony of a mechanic who recognized the vehicle’s distinctive red LED lights and red cobra stickers.

The most severe assault resulted in critical injuries to 42-year-old actor Davide Iacopini, who remains in intensive care at San Camillo hospital following a head trauma. The two teenagers have been reported for attempted murder and personal injury. The case has been transferred to the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office for further evaluation.
