Police arrest teenager following armed fatbike robbery

Police in Ridderkerk arrested a 15-year-old boy following a chase involving a fatbike. The teenager is suspected of involvement in an armed robbery that occurred the previous day in the Beverwaard district of Rotterdam, where an individual was threatened with a knife and a firearm to steal a fatbike.

During the arrest, which was carried out by an arrest team, the suspect was blindfolded and taken to a police station. A subsequent search of a cellar in Beverwaard led to the discovery of several scooter wrecks, fireworks, and two objects resembling firearms.

During the investigation, a group of approximately ten youths gathered and confronted officers, shouting insults and throwing objects at police vehicles. No arrests were made in connection with this confrontation.
