Police arrest three suspects in million-zloty hair theft in Poland
Polish police have arrested three individuals—two women aged 32 and 38, and a 46-year-old man—suspected of a series of burglaries targeting natural hair wholesalers. The thefts, which occurred in Gdańsk, Kowale, and Poznań, resulted in total losses estimated by victimized companies to exceed one million PLN.
The investigation began following a break-in on April 28, 2026, at a wholesale hair distributor in Gdańsk. Masked perpetrators entered the premises at night and filled bags with high-value hair intended for extensions.
During the investigation, authorities recovered stolen hair from a residence and a hair salon in Straszyn. Notably, during her arrest, one of the female suspects was found to have likely attached the stolen hair to her own. The suspects face charges of burglary and property damage, with burglary carrying a potential sentence of up to 10 years in prison.
