Crime and burglary incidents in Poland

Overview

Recent police activity in Poland has addressed separate series of burglaries. In one case, authorities arrested three individuals suspected of stealing natural hair from wholesalers in Gdańsk, Kowale, and Poznań, with losses exceeding one million PLN. One suspect was reportedly found with stolen hair attached to her own.

In a separate incident, a 27-year-old man was arrested in Dębno for a series of vehicle burglaries involving broken car windows. The suspect is also linked to a scooter theft from June 2026.

Additionally, a 46-year-old Serbian national has been apprehended and brought to Poland in connection with a high-profile jewelry heist at the Mokotów Gallery in Warsaw. The robbery, which occurred on December 30, 2024, involved three men disguised as food delivery workers who used hammers and a firearm to steal luxury watches valued at approximately 2 million PLN. Investigators have linked the heist to the ‘Pink Panthers’, an international criminal organization. While the suspect was detained at the Serbian-Croatian border, authorities continue to search for the four remaining suspects involved in the operation.
