Police arrest three women for thefts in Ljubljana and Bled
Police from the Ljubljana Center station have arrested three women in connection with a series of thefts in central Ljubljana and Bled.
During intensified surveillance at the central Ljubljana market in early August, officers observed one suspect steal 360 euros from a victim's closed backpack. Two other suspects were identified as providing lookout coverage for the immediate and wider surroundings. The stolen cash was recovered and returned to the victim.
Investigations revealed that two of the suspects were also involved in a theft in Bled in late July, where they stole a wallet containing 200 euros, a bank card, personal documents, and an eyeglass case from a closed backpack.
The suspects, aged 26 and 27 from Croatia and 58 from Bosnia and Herzegovina, have been detained and charged with grand theft. One suspect is under detention, another is under house arrest, and the third was released following questioning. All three individuals have prior criminal records.
