Theft investigations in Ljubljana and Bled
Overview
Police in Slovenia have arrested three women in connection with a series of thefts occurring in central Ljubljana and Bled.
During surveillance at the Ljubljana central market in early August, officers observed one suspect steal 360 euros from a victim’s closed backpack while two others provided lookout coverage. Investigations linked two of the suspects to a late July theft in Bled, where a wallet containing 200 euros, a bank card, and personal documents was stolen from a closed backpack.
The suspects, aged 26 and 27 from Croatia and 58 from Bosnia and Herzegovina, have been charged with grand theft. All three individuals have prior criminal records. Following their detention, one suspect remains in custody, one is under house arrest, and the third was released after questioning.
