Police arrest two following vehicle thefts and car chases
Police in Ireland and Northern Ireland have arrested two individuals following a series of vehicle thefts and pursuits. In Derry, authorities reported the theft of three cars from residential areas including Woodbrook, Parklands, and Victoria Gate during the early hours of Sunday, October 18.
During the response, officers utilized a stinger device to stop a stolen Mercedes. A third vehicle, a white Kia Sorrento, was driven toward the border before three occupants fled. Two 25-year-old men were subsequently arrested on suspicion of various offenses, including dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, and taking motor vehicles without authority.
In a separate but related context of police activity, An Garda Síochána conducted a pursuit in North Dublin linked to suspected burglary activity. This chase also resulted in two arrests. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing as authorities work to determine the full extent of the criminal activity and potential connections between the suspects and the reported crimes.
