Police capture four thieves in Meta, Colombia after deception robberies

Four suspected thieves carried out a series of deception‑based robberies across municipalities in Meta, including Puerto López, Puerto Gaitán and Pachaquiaro. Victims were tricked into handing over cash, cell phones and other valuables before the perpetrators fled.

The National Police quickly activated the “Plan Candado” operation, setting up checkpoints on main roads. The suspects were intercepted on the national highway at Carrera 4 in Pachaquiaro while attempting to escape toward Villavicencio. Police recovered a Renault Twingo, an Oppo mobile phone, and 391,000 Colombian pesos, items linked to the reported thefts.
