Police clash with armed thieves in Greater Noida, two suspects arrested

On July 26, police in the Dadar area of Greater Noida pursued suspects involved in a mobile‑snatching robbery. The confrontation turned violent when the suspects opened fire on the officers.

In the ensuing exchange a suspect identified as Karan Nagar was hit in the leg and taken to hospital. Police later detained both suspects – Karan Nagar and a second individual named Mukul – after a combing operation.

Seized items included the stolen mobile phone, jewellery, the vehicle used in the crime and illegal weapons: a 315‑bore flare gun, live and defective cartridges, and an illegal knife.

The police said the two men have long criminal records and investigations will continue to uncover any wider network.
