Police and customs conduct enforcement operations in Germany and Switzerland

Various law enforcement agencies in Germany and Switzerland have conducted operations targeting traffic safety and illegal employment.

In Germany, the Cologne Customs (Hauptzollamt Köln) carried out a nationwide inspection of the hair and beauty industry. Over 60 officers from the Financial Control of Illicit Work (FKS) inspected 35 companies across Cologne and surrounding regions, identifying 66 employees. The operation uncovered instances of illegal employment and an attempted deception in Troisdorf, where an owner tried to pass off an undocumented worker as his daughter.

In Switzerland, the Thurgau Cantonal Police reported several incidents involving intoxicated drivers. This included a 22-year-old who collided with a bridge railing and a 57-year-old driver found with high alcohol levels. Several other drivers were deemed unfit to drive, leading to the seizure of licenses.

Other regional reports from Germany include a large-scale police operation in Bremen targeting drugs and violence, resulting in four arrests and 19 criminal charges. Additionally, speed enforcement in Neuenrade and Offenbach led to numerous citations for speeding and driving without a valid license.
