Sutrimo Death Investigation Intensifies in Jakarta Amid Calls for Transparency
Sutrimo, a 42‑year‑old man identified as the household head (Karumga) of former Jampidsus prosecutor Febrie Adriansyah, was found unconscious with foam exiting his mouth and nose at the Klinik Mordent in Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta on 23 July 2026. He was taken by ambulance to RS Muhammadiyah Taman Puring, where medical staff declared him dead on arrival.
Polda Metro Jaya’s public‑relations chief Kombes Budi Hermanto said the investigation is being conducted professionally and carefully, but no cause of death has been determined. Police have placed a police line around the clinic, are gathering statements from the victim’s family, ambulance driver, hospital staff and witnesses, and are seeking CCTV footage. The forensic laboratory has so far found no poison in the evidence collected.
The case has drawn political and civil‑society attention. DPR Commission III member Bimantoro Wiyono urged the police to expedite a transparent probe, while the Koalisi Masyarakat Sipil called for an impartial, accountable investigation. Police have also signaled that an exhumation could be carried out if needed, and the location remains cordoned off pending further inquiry.
