Police deny BRS farmers’ rally in Miryalaguda

Telangana Police have denied permission for a planned farmers’ rally and public meeting organized by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Miryalaguda, scheduled for September 3. The event was intended to be led by BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) to address agricultural concerns, including irrigation, electricity, urea shortages, and Rythu Bharosa.

Authorities rejected the application, citing potential traffic disruptions at Rajiv Chowk. Police stated that the junction is a busy area with narrow roads, and a large gathering on National Highway-167 could severely impact vehicular movement.

In response, BRS leaders have alleged that the denial is a political conspiracy by the ruling Congress government to suppress the party and prevent KTR from raising farmers' issues. Despite the rejection, some BRS representatives indicated that the protest would proceed as planned.
