Police departments in Serbia and Bosnia announce large-scale recruitment

Law enforcement agencies in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina have announced large-scale recruitment drives for new police officers.

The Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs has opened applications for 1,000 trainees at the Center for Basic Police Training in Sremska Kamenica. The intake includes 600 general police officers, 200 traffic police officers specializing in accident investigation, and 200 border police officers. Candidates must be Serbian citizens between the ages of 18 and 30, possess a category B driver's license, and meet specific educational and health requirements. The application deadline is October 5, 2026.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tuzla Canton has issued a public call to hire 300 new police officers. This recruitment follows approval from the Government of Tuzla Canton for permanent employment positions. Applicants are required to have completed at least a fourth-degree secondary education in social or technical fields.
