Mobile health units deliver medicines to remote Veracruz communities

The "Camionetitas" and "Rutas de la Salud" programmes transported 22,400 medication units and 13,310 medical‑supplies to hard‑to‑reach settlements of the Altas Montañas region in Veracruz, with a focus on indigenous populations. The shipments reached health centres in Acultzingo, Puente de Guadalupe, Ciudad Mendoza, Huiloapan de Cuauhtémoc, Nogales, Rancho Viejo, Río Blanco, Soledad Atzompa and others. Continuous provision of drugs enabled patients with tuberculosis, diabetes and other chronic conditions to complete treatment courses, improving health outcomes and quality of life. The initiative, coordinated by the IMSS‑Bienestar and the state health secretary, was funded with more than 1 million pesos to ensure regular supply in municipalities lacking permanent medical stock.
