Police Detain Suspected Members of ‘Los Gatilleros de León’ Gang in Peru

Peruvian police from the Pueblo Nuevo precinct detained two men, J. Lurita (25) and S. Chávez (27), who are alleged members of the criminal group “Los gatilleros de León.” The arrests occurred after the suspects stopped their vehicle at the intersection of Av. Sucre and Jirón Arica, near the site where a motorbike taxi was shot four times over the weekend. During the search, officers found a dum‑dum (expanding) bullet in a hidden pocket and discovered that one of the detainees was bleeding from a gunshot wound to the right leg.

Investigators linked the two men to the earlier attack in the Los Ángeles settlement, where the motorcyclist survived the shooting. Both suspects have been handed over to the Section of Crimes and Offenses of the Pueblo Nuevo police station for further investigation and remain in custody.
