Police dismantle clandestine weapons factory in Paraná

A joint operation by the civil police of Paraná and São Paulo, known as Operation Sillas, has dismantled a clandestine weapons factory in Cambará, Paraná. The operation resulted in the arrest of 11 individuals.

Investigations revealed a division of labor between the two states. The Paraná-based group focused on the production, assembly, and adaptation of custom-made artisanal weapons. Meanwhile, the group in São Paulo managed drug storage, social media marketing of the weapon catalogs, and delivery logistics.

The crackdown involved over 60 officers and the execution of 13 temporary arrest warrants and 24 search and seizure warrants. Authorities seized narcotics (cocaine, crack, and marijuana), ammunition, jewelry, cash, and two pistols (9mm and .40 caliber). Among those detained, three were caught in the act of drug trafficking and one for possession of restricted-use weapons.
