Italian police seize Lonato venue, nine placed under house arrest
The Polizia di Stato and the Guardia di Finanza carried out a large‑scale judicial police operation across the provinces of Brescia, Mantova, Verona and Alessandria. Nine individuals were ordered to house arrest or to present themselves to the police for alleged participation in an association aimed at establishing a house of prostitution, recruiting, exploiting and facilitating prostitution. A venue in Lonato del Garda was seized under a preventive “impeditive” seizure.
The investigations, directed by the Procura della Repubblica presso il Tribunale di Brescia, were conducted between February and October 2024 by mobile squads of the Guardia di Finanza (Desenzano del Garda) and the State Police. Authorities say the illicit business operated from 2021 to 2024, using two fictitious non‑commercial entities to launder the proceeds, and that the suspects also face charges of fraud against the State and tax evasion. Personal and patrimonial precautionary measures were imposed at dawn to dismantle the network.
