Overview

Italian authorities have continued a focused campaign against sexual exploitation in the Brescia‑Verona area. The investigation, directed by the Brescia prosecutor’s office, was carried out by mobile squads of the Guardia di Finanza (based in Desenzano del Garda) and the State Police between February and October 2024. Authorities said the network operated from 2021 to 2024, used fictitious non‑commercial entities to launder proceeds, and that suspects also face fraud‑against‑the‑State and tax‑evasion charges. Personal and patrimonial precautionary measures were imposed at dawn to dismantle the operation.
