Police dismantle prostitution network in France and conduct arrests in Senegal
In France, authorities have dismantled a large-scale prostitution network following an investigation triggered by a minor escaping a residence in Angers in May 2026. The minor filed a complaint alleging rape, which led investigators to uncover a broader organization operating across several major French cities. Two separate police operations conducted in August and September resulted in the identification and arrest of eight suspects.
In Senegal, law enforcement in Tambacounda has intensified operations targeting clandestine sexual activities. Following an initial investigation in May 2026 by the gendarmerie, which led to the arrest of 21 individuals, a recent operation by the central police station resulted in the apprehension of 24 additional suspects. These arrests followed undercover work and confessions from previously detained individuals.
