Police in Anzing stop livestock transporter with 190 calves

Police in Anzing, Germany, intercepted a livestock transporter carrying 190 calves on the A94 motorway. The inspection by the Hohenbrunn traffic police revealed significant animal welfare violations, as the animals were packed so tightly that their backs touched the ceiling of the loading area.

In addition to the overcrowding, the driver lacked the required transport permits and necessary documentation. The 49-year-old Polish driver was also found to be using a fraudulent driver card to conceal driving and rest times, leading to criminal proceedings. The vehicle, weighing approximately 40 tons, was also cited for speeding up to 102 km/h. The transport was halted immediately, and the calves were removed from the vehicle to prevent further distress.
