Police in various regions reported incidents of driving under the influence, including e-scooter riders in Erlangen and Gera, as well as hit-and-run cases. In response to rising accident rates, the Märkischen Kreis has launched 'Project E' to educate eighth-grade students on the dangers of e-scooters.
In Switzerland, the Canton of St. Gallen reported multiple accidents involving intoxicated drivers, resulting in several injuries and significant property damage. In Austria, an 82-year-old man died after being struck by a drunk driver who fled the scene in Fernitz-Mellach.
Criminal reports also include a safe being stolen from an elderly home in Eupen, Belgium, and multiple robberies and fraud attempts targeting seniors in Cologne and Duisburg.
