Northern Cyprus reports multiple traffic accidents and arrests

A series of traffic accidents across Northern Cyprus has resulted in several injuries and multiple arrests. In one incident on the Gazimağusa-İskele highway, a motorcyclist, Ulaş Sabancı, sustained broken ribs and lung bleeding after losing control on a curve and colliding with a vehicle.

In Girne, a motorcycle collision sent a rider to intensive care, while an ATV accident in the Dipkarpaz Ayfilon region left a driver with broken arms and a broken neck. Another motorcycle accident occurred near the Haspolat roundabout, resulting in further injuries.

Law enforcement has also taken action against drivers suspected of driving under the influence. Two drivers in Lefkoşa were arrested after refusing to provide breath samples for alcohol testing following collisions. Additionally, a driver in Girne was arrested after testing positive for alcohol.

Separate police activity in İskele led to the arrest of one individual in connection with the theft of two dogs from a construction site, while other recent operations resulted in arrests for drug possession and residency violations.
