Police in Madhya Pradesh arrest individuals for online betting and cyber harassment
Police in Madhya Pradesh have arrested two individuals in separate criminal investigations involving digital platforms.
In Indore, the Crime Branch apprehended Abhishek Agarwal, a fugitive wanted in connection with an online cricket and casino betting racket. The operation, conducted at an apartment in Usha Nagar, follows a previous raid on May 6 where seven individuals were caught operating a betting network using laptops and mobile phones to facilitate transactions via digital points. Authorities seized a laptop and three mobile phones from Agarwal, which contain betting IDs and transaction records.
In Satna, the Nagod police arrested 28-year-old Virendra Singh for creating a fake Instagram account using a young woman's name and photo to post obscene comments. Singh, an employee at the BPCL refinery in Bina, was apprehended with the assistance of a cyber cell team. He has been sent to jail following his confession and the seizure of three mobile phones used in the offense.
