Czech Police crack down on illegal tuning rally in Prague

Police in the Czech Republic implemented extensive security measures to manage the illegal tuning car rally known as ‘Europe illegal season end 2026’. The event saw large gatherings in Prague, specifically at a parking lot in Čakovice, with participants also moving to locations such as Zličín, Strahov, and Čestlice.

In Prague, approximately 1,000 vehicles and 2,500 people gathered. Nearly 400 officers, including highway and customs police, monitored the situation using helicopters and drones. Authorities reported 176 offenses, resulting in fines totaling 271,900 CZK. Notable incidents included one driver being detained for driving despite a court ban and two drivers testing positive for drugs. Seven vehicles were prohibited from further driving, and two were towed.

While the gatherings caused temporary traffic and public transport disruptions, police stated that no serious accidents involving injuries or deaths occurred. The security operation was described by officials as successful in deterring more severe illegal activities.
