Indian police conduct multiple encounters resulting in criminal arrests
Police forces across several Indian states have conducted multiple encounters with criminals, resulting in several arrests and injuries to suspects.
In Uttar Pradesh, police in Ghaziabad apprehended two suspects following a shootout after they opened fire on officers. One suspect, identified as Aman, sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. In Jhansi, a separate encounter led to the arrest of two individuals, including Brijendra, following a jewelry theft; one suspect was also shot in the leg during the confrontation.
In Haryana, a CIA-1 team engaged in a shootout with two suspects in Kurukshetra who were involved in a robbery at an advocate's residence. The suspects were shot in the legs during the exchange of approximately seven rounds of gunfire. Police have previously recovered 15 lakh rupees and jewelry related to this case.
In Uttarakhand, Dehradun police arrested a suspect identified as Akash, also known as Tamancha, following an encounter in the Basant Vihar area. The suspect, wanted for chain snatching, was shot in the leg after firing at police during a vehicle check. Authorities recovered a stolen scooter, a stolen chain, and a firearm.
