Police inspect 112 trucks on D8 highway in Czech Republic
Police conducted a large-scale preventive inspection of heavy goods vehicles on the D8 highway in the Ústí nad Labem Region. During the operation, titled ‘Truck Day’, officers stopped 112 trucks and inspected 174 individuals to verify technical conditions, mandatory equipment, and compliance with traffic regulations.
The inspection resulted in 14 offenses, with total fines amounting to 62,500 CZK. The most frequent violation was illegal overtaking, recorded in ten instances. Other infractions included two drivers failing to wear seatbelts and one serious case of a truck reversing directly on the highway.
In addition to enforcement, the event included practical demonstrations for drivers, such as crash and rotation simulators to illustrate the impact of accidents, as well as first aid training and checks of vehicle first aid kits.
