Police intercept drunk drivers in separate German incidents
In two separate incidents in Germany, police intercepted drivers operating vehicles under the influence of alcohol.
In Marschalkenzimmern, a 35-year-old man was stopped during a routine traffic check while driving a Mercedes. A breathalyzer test indicated a blood alcohol level of approximately 1.2 per mille. Authorities seized his driver's license and took a blood sample; the individual faces charges for driving under the influence.
In a separate event near Weilheim, a 50-year-old driver was stopped after a witness intervened to halt a black Ford Focus that was driving in extreme zig-zag patterns on State Road 2056. The driver's breathalyzer result exceeded 1.1 per mille. Police noted fresh damage to the passenger side of the vehicle, suggesting a recent collision with a guardrail. An investigation into endangering road traffic has been initiated.
