Police investigate deaths of young women in Bolivia and Guatemala

In Cochabamba, Bolivia, authorities have apprehended a 22-year-old man, identified as Samuel M. R., following the discovery of two women's bodies in Quillacollo. The victims, Joselyn Q. T. (22) and Elizabeth L. V. (24), were found in a building used as a mechanical workshop on September 18, 2026. The victims had reportedly been consuming alcoholic beverages with the suspect prior to the incident. The suspect claimed the women attempted to steal his belongings, a claim currently under investigation. The Fuerza Especial de Lucha Contra la Violencia (Felcv) responded to reports of shouting at the scene.

In Guatemala, the body of a 22-year-old woman, Lidia Lucrecia Pablo Cuc, was recovered from a ravine in the municipality of Sololá. Local residents alerted volunteer firefighters to the discovery in the Jeatz sector. Pablo Cuc had been reported missing approximately one week prior. Family members noted that she and her twin sister were under medical treatment for mental health issues. National Civil Police have cordoned off the area as investigations into the circumstances of her death continue.
