Euskirchen woman found dead; husband arrested for suspected murder

Police in North Rhine-Westphalia have discovered the body of a 46-year-old woman in a wooded area near Zülpich. Investigators believe the deceased is Stephanie H., a mother of two from Euskirchen who had been missing since the previous Friday.

Following the discovery, authorities arrested the woman's 51-year-old husband, Marcel H., on suspicion of homicide. Before his arrest, the husband had given media interviews in which he denied involvement and claimed to have seen a dark vehicle. One reporter noted that the man appeared nervous and inauthentic during the conversation.

The investigation included searches of the couple's home and a recycling center in Weilerswist, supported by the Technical Relief Agency (THW) and search dogs. The Bonn Public Prosecutor's Office is currently reviewing whether to issue an arrest warrant. Forensic examinations are pending to provide final confirmation of the identity.
