Police investigate fatal shooting of businessman in Uganda

Police in Nsangi are investigating the fatal shooting of 47-year-old businessman Ssekandi Edirisa in Wakiso District, Uganda. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2026, in Manja Cell, Kyengera Town Council.

According to preliminary reports, Edirisa was returning home from work in a Subaru Forester with his wife and son. Upon arriving at their home gate, unidentified gunmen armed with a firearm attacked the family and opened fire, killing Edirisa instantly. The assailants fled the scene immediately following the attack.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SP Racheal Kawala has appealed to the public for information to assist in identifying and arresting those responsible. Investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the murder.
