Police investigate fatal shootings in Santiago districts

Authorities in Chile are investigating two separate shooting incidents in the Santiago metropolitan area that resulted in fatalities.

In Estación Central, a Chilean man was killed early Thursday morning after being targeted by gunmen in a moving vehicle near the intersection of Hermanos Carrera and Pasaje 18. The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and later died at a medical center. The ECOH Prosecutor's Office and the PDI Homicide Brigade are leading the investigation, with preliminary hypotheses suggesting the attack may be linked to criminal organizations or a settling of scores.

In a separate incident in the Sierra Bella sector of Santiago Centro, two Venezuelan citizens were involved in a shooting. One man died from a gunshot wound to the leg, while a second individual remains in serious condition at a hospital. Prosecutor Jonathan Coloma confirmed that investigators are working to reconstruct the dynamics of the attack and identify the perpetrators.
