Police investigate house fires in Wagga Wagga

Authorities are investigating two separate house fires in Wagga Wagga that have caused significant property damage.

On the morning of October 29, emergency services responded to a fire at a home located at the corner of Elsham Avenue and Torulosa Way in Glenroi. Fire and Rescue NSW reported the house was “well alight” upon their arrival. One resident managed to exit the premises before firefighters arrived and was assessed by paramedics; however, the individual did not require hospitalization. NSW Police have established a crime scene, though they stated the fire is not currently being treated as suspicious. The property sustained “extensive damage.”

This follows an earlier incident on October 28, where a home on South Parade was totally destroyed in a fire that began around 3:30 am. Firefighters remained at that scene until approximately 5:45 am. These incidents occur amid a recent series of fires in the area, including a minor kitchen blaze at Romano’s Hotel on October 24.
