Police investigate separate traffic accidents in Germany and Switzerland

Police in Germany and Switzerland are investigating separate traffic incidents involving injuries and suspected criminal behavior.

In Bönen, Germany, a 36-year-old cyclist from Kamen was injured after being struck by a white compact car on Edisonstraße. The driver, described as a male between 10 and 50 years old, approximately 180–185 cm tall with thinning hair, reportedly left the scene after the collision. Although the cyclist initially stated they were fine, they later reported experiencing pain. Authorities are seeking witnesses who can identify the vehicle or the driver.

In Switzerland, a collision occurred on the A1 motorway near Kestenholz involving a blue BMW X5. A 29-year-old driver from Lucerne is suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol following a positive breathalyzer test. The BMW reportedly struck another car, potentially a previously unidentified truck, and then hit the center barrier. The driver of the preceding vehicle sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital. The Solothurn Cantonal Police are investigating the incident and seeking witnesses.
