Police officers injured in separate vehicle collisions in Illinois and Indiana

Two separate incidents involving police vehicles and collisions were reported in the United States.

In Bolingbrook, Illinois, a police officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle during an attempted arrest on South Weber Road. The vehicle fled the scene, leading to a pursuit that ended in Plainfield when the suspect's vehicle collided with another car. Two individuals from the fleeing vehicle were taken into custody.

In Cumberland, Indiana, a police officer and a patrol dog sustained minor injuries after a vehicle traveling the wrong way on a one-way street ran a red light and struck the rear of the officer's patrol car. Investigators determined the driver may have been intoxicated, and the individual was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content above 0.15%.
