In mid-August 2026, two separate vehicle collisions involving law enforcement were reported in the Midwest.

In Bolingbrook, Illinois, an officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle during an attempted arrest on South Weber Road. The suspect fled, leading to a pursuit that ended in Plainfield when the vehicle collided with another car. Two individuals were taken into custody.
