Police officers perform life-saving first aid on infants in Argentina and Paraguay

Police officers in Argentina and Paraguay successfully performed life-saving first aid on infants who had stopped breathing.

In Recreo, Argentina, officers Evangélica Bello and Emanuel Fiorenzo responded to an emergency where a woman brought her baby to a police unit. The officers performed first aid maneuvers and transported the infant under ‘red code’ to Hospital Protomédico. The child began breathing during the transit and was reported to be stable and under observation.

In Paraguay, officers Héctor García and Martín Marecos intervened in the Capiibary settlement after encountering a woman with a 9-month-old baby who had stopped breathing. After approximately 40 seconds of first aid maneuvers, the infant showed signs of respiration. The baby was subsequently taken to the Regional Hospital, where medical staff confirmed the child was in good condition.
