Montenegro police conduct widespread drug, weapon, and traffic enforcement operations

Montenegrin authorities have conducted several law enforcement operations across the country. In Ulcinj, police intensified controls at the Velika Plaža area and on roads, resulting in nine arrests, the seizure of a BMW, and significant fines for traffic violations and drug possession. In Podgorica, a multi-month operation led to the arrest of two individuals suspected of selling heroin, with 62 grams of the drug and cash seized.

In northern Montenegro, a coordinated raid across five municipalities resulted in the seizure of 22 weapons, including 18 rifles and four pistols, along with over 1,000 rounds of ammunition and various narcotics. Additionally, the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica has launched an investigation into a violent prisoner assault at the Spuž prison that occurred on August 1.

In maritime safety, inspectors from the Kotor and Bar port captaincies conducted 90 inspections over one week, issuing over 59,000 euros in fines and seizing four vessels for various maritime violations. Meanwhile, the Director of the Police Administration conducted a working visit to the southern region to assess security readiness for the summer tourist season and upcoming events.
