Police operations in Pakistan result in fatalities in Karak and Karachi
In the Karak district, a Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) search and strike operation in the Charpeera area led to a heavy exchange of fire with militants. Four police personnel, including CTD DSP Imranuddin Khan, Sub-Inspector Afzal Awan, a gunman named Kazim, and a bomb disposal unit member named Amjad, were killed during the encounter. Two terrorists were also killed during the raid on the residence of militant commander Qaiser Iqbal. Operations involving drone teams and rapid response forces continue in the region.
In Karachi, separate police operations targeting criminals resulted in the deaths of several individuals. In the Timuriyah and Shah Faisal Colony areas, police engaged in shootouts with suspected dacoits, resulting in three deaths and one police officer being injured. This follows a series of encounters on Thursday where a total of six dacoits were killed across the Korangi, Central, and Malir City districts. Sindh Interior Minister Zia ul Hassan Langari and Karachi Police Chief Azad Khan commended the performance of the Shaheen Force and local police units.
