Police raid drug labs in Enschede and IJsselmuiden

Police have dismantled two drug laboratories in Enschede and IJsselmuiden, Netherlands. In Enschede, a raid was conducted by the Special Interventions Service (DSI) at a commercial building on Blekerstraat, located in the middle of a residential area. Due to the risk of chemical exposure, officers wore gas masks during the operation.

One of the suspects detained in connection with the labs is the 57-year-old director of a bankrupt installation company. He and an accomplice were injured in an explosion at a drug lab in IJsselmuiden. Investigators are looking into the link between the two locations, which appears to be the bankrupt company. While the director's exact level of involvement is being determined, authorities are investigating whether he was acting as an electrician or held a larger role in the operations.

During the dismantling of the Enschede lab, dozens of blue barrels containing chemicals were discovered. Specialized teams are working to safely remove the hazardous substances. The investigation into the individuals running the laboratories is ongoing.
